The WISE Center

Mrs. Esquivel's class has been learning about the four seasons, focusing on winter. They knew animals had fur and blubber that helped keep them warm, like a jacket, when it was cold outside. The students dipped their hands in ice water and then talked about how it was cold and numbed their hands. After, they used lard to show how blubber works! The kids realized with the blubber that their hands were not freezing in the ice water. Seeing how animals handle the cold weather was a fun, hands-on project!
